Dean of Tafsīr & Quranic Sciences

Mufti Saim Asif started his Ḥifẓ al-Qur’ān (memorization of the Qur’ān) in 2008 on a part time basis after school at his local Masjid, Masjid Hamza in Valley Stream under the tutelage of Hafiz Abaidallah Rana (Ḥafiẓahullāh). After graduating from high school in 2012, he spent an additional year memorizing the Qur’ān, completing in June 2013. A couple of months later, he commenced his journey seeking higher Islamic knowledge, joining the then-nascent ‘Ālimiyyah program at Madrassah al-Hasanain in Indianapolis, IN, where he completed the first four years of the course. He then transferred to Darussalam Seminary in Lombard, Illinois, where he completed the ‘Ālimiyyah program in 2019. He then travelled overseas to South Africa to further his studies at Darul Uloom Zakariyya, completing a specialization program (Takhaṣṣus) in Ḥanafī Fiqh and Iftā’ (issuing legal verdicts) in 2022. In that time period and onwards until September 2023,

he also did research work in the field of Tafsīr under the supervision of the esteemed Mufti Ridha al Haqq (Ḥafiẓahullāh). Additionally, from 2019-2023, he (remotely) taught students of the ‘Ālimiyyah program at ICC in Centerville, OH multiple subjects related to the Arabic language and Tafsīr of the Qur’ān, including I’rāb al-Qur’ān, Balāghah, Tafsīr, Usūl al-Tafsīr, and ‘Ulūm al- Qur’ān. He currently serves as the Youth Director and Director of Islamic Studies at Masjid Hamza and the dean of Tafsīr and ‘Ulūm al- Qur’ān at Al-Hikmah Institute.
