Al-Bidāya fī Uṣūl al-Dīn by Imām Nūr al-Dīn al-Ṣabūnī & The Divine Reality by Hamza
Andreas Tzortzis
Description
Al-Bidāya fī Uṣūl al-Dīn (An Introduction to Islamic Theology) is a classical Māturīdī text
authored by Imām Nūr al-Dīn al-Ṣabūnī (d. 580), a distinguished theologian from Bukhara. The
work outlines the foundational principles of Islamic creed (ʿaqīdah) and clarifies orthodox Sunni positions while refuting theological deviations.
The Divine Reality by Hamza Andreas Tzortzis presents a contemporary intellectual defense of
Islam. Tzortzis articulates the rational and spiritual foundations of Islamic belief while critically
engaging with modern atheism. He addresses both academic and popular objections to faith, demonstrating that many atheistic claims rest upon flawed assumptions that fail to provide
coherent answers to life’s central questions.
Together, these texts provide students with a strong classical and modern framework for
understanding, articulating, and defending the core beliefs of Islam.
