THE FURQĀN PROGRAM
The Furqān Program is an structured after-school Qur’an and Islamic studies program designed specifically for high school students. It serves as the next step after traditional maktab studies and provides teenagers with a unique opportunity to continue their Islamic education during some of the most formative years of their lives.
At a time when many students discontinue their Islamic studies upon entering high school, the Furqān Program seeks to nurture faith, character, and intellectual growth while equipping students to confidently navigate the challenges of modern society through an Islamic worldview.

Nurturing High School Students Through the Qur'ān, Islāmic Studies & Tarbiyah
Furqān is designed for students who:
- Have completed traditional maktab studies
- Want to continue their Islamic education throughout high school
- Seek a deeper connection with the Qur’ān and Islāmic sciences
- Desire to grow in faith, character, and Islāmic identity
OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose is to cultivate a generation of young Muslims who are connected to the Qur’an, grounded in authentic Islamic knowledge, and prepared for a lifetime of sacred learning.
We strive to instill within our students a love for the Qur’an, the Arabic language, and the Islamic scholarly tradition while providing them with the tools necessary to continue their studies beyond high school.

- Qur’an Completion (Khatm al-Qur’an)
- Etiquettes & Character (Ādāb & Akhlāq)
- Basic Masāʾil (ʿIbādāt)
- Duʿā Memorization
- Arabic Grammar & Literature
- Hadith & Sirah
- Aqīdah (Islamic Theology)
- Fiqh & Contemporary Challenges
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Through the Furqān Program, students will:
- Perfect and refine their Qur’anic reading and Tajwīd.
- Develop a strong Islamic identity rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
- Strengthen their character through Tarbiyah and mentorship.
- Learn the foundational tools of the Arabic language and Islamic sciences.
- Understand contemporary issues and challenges through an Islamic worldview.
- Cultivate a love for sacred knowledge and lifelong learning.
- Prepare for advanced Qur’anic and Islamic studies after graduating from the program.
BEYOND HIGH SCHOOL
The Furqān Program is intentionally designed to prepare students for continued Islamic learning at Al-Hikmah Institute.
Upon completion of the program, students will have the opportunity to pursue higher studies in Qur’anic Arabic and the Islamic sciences. These studies are designed to help students:
- Understand the Qur’an directly from the Arabic text (muṣḥaf).
- Study Qur’anic translation, themes, and meanings in greater depth.
- Read and appreciate classical texts in Fiqh and Hadith.
- Develop a stronger command of the Arabic language.
- Continue their journey of sacred learning through structured and advanced courses in the Islamic sciences.
Our goal is not simply to teach students Islamic subjects during their teenage years. Rather, it is to provide them with the knowledge, love, and tools necessary to remain connected to the Qur’an and Islamic scholarship throughout their lives.
